C1 – Advanced Level- ”Fun English” Book # 7 – Acdemic English
93 hours
OUTCOMES –This book will help students understand learning strategies which are based on critical thinking and problem solving, pay attention to the process and learn how an academic language “product” is achieved. Students will learn how to approach a situation when they face a problem that they cannot solve; find ways how to express themselves about things that they have not learned yet; they will not only learn new information but find strategies how to activate and applythe information they learn. So, this book uses the language as a vehicle to convey a thought or carry an argument using academic English language. Besides improving the academic language, this book teaching the best ways the brain can acquire and retain the new information.
Learning strategies (how to learn) that this book conveys are very important in order to maximize the achievement in the process of learning. Students, who learn how to learn well, will be able to put their knowledge to good use and keep adding new information to what they already know. They will learn how to do meta-analysis (analyze their learning) and fix their own mistakes. In this book, students will learn how to think “strategically” and make associations with their previous knowledge. This will help them “produce” not “reproduce” what the book or the teacher offers. This is Critical Thinking and it is a very good strategy to use in language learning. We give the chance and push the students to start using their learning strategies and to work with the textbook in such a way that they not only will be given a purpose to use the language but they will start to think in English as the questions will be so challenging that they will keep thinking in order to make inferences and use the language just as a medium of expressing their thoughts.

C2 – Advanced Level- ”Fun English” Book # 8 – Get Wise for Tests
OUTCOMES – Learning English is a continuous process and even at an advanced level, there is always something new to learn. Using our “Fun English”, Book #8 will ensure you develop your advanced academic English proficiency and maintain and improve your language fluency. Whether you are selling your company’s products, preparing to sit for a standardized exam, negotiating a business deal or hosting an event in English, set goals for yourself and use that as motivation to add value to your already fluent academic English. In everyday speech, this level might be called “bilingual”, as in “I am bilingual in English and Albanian.” A well-educated native English speaker is technically at a C2 level and this is the level expected for successfully sitting for a standardized English exam (IELTS, TOEFL etc.). A C2 level of English is essentially a native-like levelof language proficiency and that is the focus of “Fun English”, Book #1 – Get Wise for Tests. It allows for reading and writing of any type on any subject, expression of emotions and opinions, and active participation in any academic or professional setting.
Someone at the C2 level in English should be able to: understand with ease virtually everything heard or read; can summarize information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation; can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations; can discuss issues related to science and technology, including robots and new inventions; can talk about celebrities, and gossip about celebrities; use a variety of techniques for promoting creativity in your speech and writing; can talk about stress inlife and the lives of friends and colleagues; and can discuss techniques for doing research on a wide range of topics.
Although progress will depend on the type of course and the individual student, students can expect to reach the C2 level in English with 1000 hours of cumulative instruction. However, Dracana GPS intends to achieve this in 248 offered in this very intensive on-line platform. That means that the student will get involved in listening, reading, writing and speaking English on his own for another 752 hours, before sitting for a standardized exam. To improve your fluent English, challenge yourself by exposing your ear to a wide range of English accents. Better yet, find ways to get involved in discussions or debates in different settings that use English as the language of communication. Put yourself in social, academic or work situations where only English is spoken and do your best to pick up every word. Our teaching approach is based on Structured English Immersion (SEI), so students need to immerse themselves in advanced English. Here are some interesting ways we recommend: Watch movies and TV and listen to the radio from many different countries without subtitles. Make phone calls in English. Meet and spend time with English speaking friends and colleagues. Jump into professional conversations and debates rather than sitting in the back row. You can do it, Dracana GPS will provide the tools.
